Another busy week starting with huge thanks to New York Bakery Co. Bagels for the latest donation of surplus bagels & ongoing support.
Some of these have been donated to Mexborough Foodbank & Swinton Lock Activity Centre to support food parcel demand locally.
The rest have been redistributed to our South Yorkshire community projects via our Hellaby base supporting deprived communities in Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley.
We offered our continued support to Rotherham Street Kitchen which had well over 50 people served tonight (7th September 2020).
Huge thanks to Donna from Doncaster Street Hub for dropping off weekly supplies for Flo at Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd due to transport issues…really appreciated!
Also to our volunteer Alan Wright who has now been promoted to ‘Logistics Co-ordinator’) as well as ‘Produce Manager’..ha ha!).
Hugely proud of our hardworking team who have diverted another 5 tonnes of food away from potential landfill this week and redistributed to over 50 projects supporting over 3,000 people!
Thanks to Ken Wyatt for ongoing support and recently for more donations of fridges and microwaves for our community project network!
At Mexborough Foodbank, they have had consistent sessions last few weeks average between 22-26 food parcels each week across the local area – mostly home delivered in Mexborough, Denaby, Conisbrough & Swinton.
