Once again another busy week help support the local community and the associated community groups.

Ella’s Kitchen via Cash for Kids Yorkshire

Ellas Kitchen Cash for Kids Yorkshire supporting FoodAWARE Local CommunityHuge thanks for another pallet of Organic Smoothies from Ella’s Kitchen via Cash for Kids Yorkshire Allan Ogle partnership being redistributed to #southyorkshire community projects promoting healthier eating/diet.

Cash for Kids Yorkshire is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across Yorkshire.

Their mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in our communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. They believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full.

They work with local grass-roots organisations that aim to make a difference to young lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.

Everything raised for Cash for Kids in Yorkshire will stay in Yorkshire to help children living in our local communities.

eCloud Mexborough

eCloud Mexborough supporting FoodAWARE Local CommunityeCloud Mexborough recently posted on Facebook asking their customers to donate whatever money they could afford so they can donate to a local charity/community cause.

We are thrilled to announce they have managed to raise £45 from their customer’s kind donations, and Chris of eCloud Mexborough has matched that, bringing our total to £90!

This will be going to Food Aware CIC in partnership with Mexborough Foodbank and arrangements will be made shortly to hand over their donation.

Thank you to all the wonderful customers of eCloud for your kind donation as well as Chris, for helping to feed those who are vulnerable in our community.

Shelagh’s Sewing Circle

Shelaghs Sewing Circle supporting FoodAWARE Local CommunityHuge thanks to Shelagh’s Sewing Circle for this fantastic donation which is being appreciated by so many locally.

Shelagh’s Sewing Circle is a Dronfield-based voluntary group, started and lead by Shelagh Cheetham. They sew and donate cotton face masks to care homes, independent charities, key workers and schools. They have made and donated over 50,000 face coverings since they started!

The amazing volunteers at Shelagh’s Sewing Circle have used over 11 miles of fabric in making the masks which is unbelievable.

Get in touch with them at the link above to see how you can help either by donating much needed fabric.

Spirit of Christmas

Spirit of Christmas supporting FoodAWARE Local CommunityYesterday our volunteer Ops Manager, Mel, had the joy of visiting the staff and volunteers at Spirit of Christmas with a delivery of 900 boxes of candy canes donated via Lidl GB. Along with toys generously donated by her family and Food Aware.

These will be gifted to children and families in need via 5 charities across our region.

It’s a pleasure to team with such a great project that is working so hard to ensure that children are able to enjoy their Christmas and receive gifts despite the challenging times we find ourselves in.

Spirit of Christmas is a registered charity that runs local, socially inclusive family Christmas parties and events.

For many families Christmas is a time of great pressure and stress as they try to create a great family Christmas with limited finances.

Spirit of Christmas came up with an idea of trying to do something local that would be family orientated, demonstrate giving, encourage people in the community to help and be affordable for all.
