We have already diverted another 5 tonnes of food away from potential landfill this week & redistributed to 50+ projects supporting 3,000+ people across Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley and all neighbouring areas of South Yorkshire.

Our first volunteer of the day is Sue from Maltby Foodbank. Always lovely to see her and fill up the car ready for distribution to those in need.
Maltby Foodbank is run by St Mary Magdalene Church, Morrell Street, Maltby.
They work closely with Maltby Town Council, Addison Centre, Aldi Maltby, Morrisons Bramley, us at FoodAWARE CIC and Fareshare.
Bentley Resilient Community Network – Bentley RCN
Bentley Resilient Community Network – Bentley RCN were our next visitors this morning, the lovely Eric loaded up and on his way to help support the families of the Bentley area.
Bentley RCN is a community group and charity set up to promote and support the residents and business in the Bentley Ward of Doncaster. We are operating a food bank from Bentley Library Tuesday to Friday.

Another successful collection packed up and sent off with our friends Pat and Ken from DN7 Food Bank.

Balby & Hexthorpe Community Engagement CIC
Volunteer driver Mr Singh from Balby & Hexthorpe Community Engagement CIC visited us twice yesterday, once for food and once for homewares and other items donated to residents in need from Giving World via us at Food Aware CIC.
The areas that they cover is Balby, Hexthorpe this also includes Woodfield Plantation and Dominion Estates.
Ian and Jane from Rotherham Aspire visited us yesterday along with their colleagues. This was their first visit to Food Aware and we were all very happy to be able to give them so many useful items along with lots of food to keep all the students happy.

The Clothing Bank
Our Volunteer Operations Manager Mel was busy again today meeting with the lovely ladies at The Clothing Bank another new community partnership for us both.
Mel was highly impressed by everything the team are doing and shocked by the sheer volume of work the ladies do. She also dropped off a large amount of surplus T-Shirts to help with their effort from Food Aware stock donated via Business in the Community
We look forward to jointly helping people in need across our region in the coming weeks and months.
The clothing bank doesn’t have any boundaries when it comes to helping people with clothing and shoes if you are struggling they will help.
Aldi – Wath-upon-Dearne
Thanks to Asst Mgr Ryan for all of these surplus mince pies yesterday. These will be enjoyed by recipients at another very busy Mexborough Foodbank session at The Willows Community Centre next door to Mexborough Family Hub today!
Supporting families in need across Mexborough, Denaby, Conisbrough & Swinton / Kilnhurst via our partners Ken Wyatt & Swinton Lock Activity Centre plus Wath-on-Dearne / Dearne Valley area.
Here is Hayley Trussell dropping off another 8 bags of food donated by local residents. This is the third load via Hayley & neighbours plus the large donation from other residents delivered via Kelly Kirk a few weeks ago. Thanks to all residents of the Melton View Estate for their kind donations.
