We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year as we continued to work tirelessly to support the local community.

Edlington Community Organisation

We at Food Aware CIC are proud to work alongside the fab Edlington Community Organisation team to assist those less fortunate locally….especially in these very challenging and unprecedented times.

We are really sorry to hear about this mindless vandalism against a fab charitable organisation which does so much to help those in need.

They definitely need their vans in operation so they can keep doing what they do….so we’ve donated £350 to enable them to get those vans back on the road ASAP. Let’s do this!

Wishing them all the very best for 2021 and let’s hope next year is a much better year for all of us!

Our team of volunteers & community partners are gearing up for a very busy period…Jan to Mar is always our busiest time as we face the cold and challenging winter ahead.

We’re back up and running on Mon 4th Jan as we work towards our first Foodbank session of the year on Fri 8th Jan.

Although our team have enjoyed a much-needed rest over Christmas, we have not stopped supporting local people in need over the festive period.

Thanks to our close partnership with the Doncaster Council Communities South Area Team we have provided eight emergency food parcels between 24th-31st Dec which have all been delivered across Mexborough, Denaby & Conisbrough by the DMBC Stronger Communities team who have been working hard over the Christmas period to support our local communities.

We spent over £1,000 on festive goodies for our Christmas Hampers mainly in the Poundland Mex store and some in the Poundland York store.

We are delighted that the York Monks Cross store has already installed a ‘Customer Donation Point’ in-store to support our community projects.

Watch out for a ‘Customer Donation Point’ arriving soon in the Poundland Mexborough store and please donate if you can. All donations will be passed to our community partners Mexborough Foodbank supporting local families across Mexborough, Denaby, Conisbrough & Swinton areas.
