Our team continue to work tirelessly in the run-up to Christmas.

FoodAWARE supporting local community with delivery of bedsJust a quick note to advise that our grassroots community organisation provides much more than just food parcels.
During the Covid pandemic, we have seen unprecedented need and hardship across our local communities which were already suffering multiple deprivations.

However, there is hope and help out there. Huge thanks to all of our supporters behind the scenes, we have been able to assist a number of families across the local area with some additional household costs/purchase of new items.

For example, we paid the costs of an MOT bill for a working family from Denaby in #doncasterisgreat #southyorkshire to help keep their car on the road and today our team delivered a brand new single bed to another Denaby family. Also, another brand new bed went to an Edlington family a couple of weeks ago.

Watch this space…as we will shortly be launching a brand new PayPal account to encourage further donations to enable us to help even more families throughout the winter period.

Mexborough Christian Community Church

We work with many amazing people, all working together to help their local community and beyond.

People such as the guys at Mexborough Christian Community Church so it was heartwarming to receive such kind words from them. You can read these words below.

Having worked alongside the team of volunteers at Mexborough Foodbank Food Aware CIC over the past 9 months as a Church, we would like to pay tribute to the amazing work these guys do in providing weekly food parcels to families and individuals in the Mexborough Community and surrounding areas.

They work tirelessly and are committed fully to this work which is so needed and is so beneficial to many who receive this support. With the additional challenges that Covid 19 has brought us, the number of food parcels being distributed weekly has more than doubled. With the amazing support received from its many partners, and the kindness and generosity of our local community, the team has risen to the challenge week by week.

Today over 34 food parcels along with toys and some Christmas treats were delivered.

Thank you to Sean Lord Gibbons, Mark Brown Doherty, Alan Wright, Trevor Stables, Christopher Lewis Davis, Charles Prouten, Paul Harrison and Gail Varley for all your hard work. You are all amazing. Thank you to all at Hellaby too who make things happen at the warehouse. If I’ve missed anyone then please accept our apologies but you are amazing too.

Have a fantastic Christmas and we look forward to continuing to support you again in 2021.
