Mark Penn – Help the Homelezz

We are thrilled to announce that Mark Penn from one of our community partners called Help the Homelezz has won the regional The Pride of Britain Awards

It is a very humble pleasure to support his efforts in the East Riding and our Ops Director Mel was very surprised and excited to be filmed in support of Mark and his nomination at our Hellaby base as Mark took his regular food donation back to give to those far less fortunate on the streets.

We are so excited for Mark and look forward to our volunteer party to watch the show and see if Mark wins a national award. Whatever happens, Mark is always a star in our eyes and our hero for all that he does.

I hope you will join us in supporting him and watching the show later in the year. What a man he is!

FoodAWARE Community Kitchen

Great evening at the Food Aware CIC community kitchen we had a donation of bedding and towels that are in great need as the weather gets colder.

Tonight’s menu (23rd September 2024)

Chicken curry and rice
Chicken chilli pasta
Garlic bread
Beans and hot dogs

Many thanks to are brilliant volunteers who help our service users to get a hot meal and a drink

Original Factory Shop Mexborough

Huge thanks to The Original Factory Shop – Mexborough & customers for this latest fab donation of £192.88 to our community partners Mexborough Foodbank (over £1,000 donated since Nov 2022!).

Our MD Sean Lord Gibbons called into store recently to meet Val and the team and local celebrity Frank Knapton MBE was just leaving….so he jumped on the photo!

This ongoing support is much needed as the team of volunteers at Mexborough Foodbank continue to support people through #CostOfLivingCrisis across Mexborough, Denaby & Conisbrough.

Another crazy & productive week in the world of Food AWARE!

Another 13 tonnes of surplus food redistributed this week to our growing number of community projects…and for FREE!

Huge thanks as always to our dedicated team of volunteers who work their magic week in week out!

We even managed to rope in our MD Sean Lord Gibbons into helping pull some of the pallets into our overflow storage as you can see!

Also to all of our donors/supporters who help us #FeedPeopleNotLandfill each week!

Special thanks to – Greencore for numerous pallets of surplus sauces & pickles (more on that later!) Lidl GB for another fab donation of 22 surplus pallets (again more later!) The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co. for the weekly donation of surplus Yorkshire Puddings, to ABP Food Group for weekly donation of surplus minced beef, Jacksons of Yorkshire for weekly surplus bread supplies & to Poundland KP Nuts Ella’s Kitchen Green Origins New York Bakery Co. Bagels Great Bear / Culina Group etc for regular donation of surplus supplies.
