Another busy month for FoodAWARE HQ supporting the local community.

 

Sainsburys – Edenthorpe

 
Huge thanks to Sainsbury’s – Edenthorpe store in #doncasterisgreat and all of their lovely customers for the fantastic amount of donations our volunteers collect each week!
Special thanks to BAPP Group of Companies for this fab full trolley donation which will be collected from store by our volunteers next week!
 
These donations are fundamental to the continuation of our community partners at Mexborough Foodbank & Thorne And Moorends Community Food Bank who also collect from Sainsbury’s in Thorne each week.
 
Huge thanks to our friends at Neighbourly for coordinating.
 
And huge thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund for ongoing support and latest #AwardsForAll grant to help towards our operational overheads & volunteer expenses.

Great Bear 

 
Huge thanks to our ongoing supporters Great Bear of Culina Group) for latest £500 donation towards our operational costs.
 
Also for recent support with several pallets of surplus pasta (past ‘Best Before’ date) which we have distributed across our Yorkshire community project network.
 
We also donated a van full of surplus food to our friends & community partners Food Works Sheffield last week to help them feed people across the city of Sheffield.
 
Along with the pasta, they received some trays of minced best from ABP Food Group, lots of surplus bread from Jacksons of Yorkshire, a pallet of Yorkshire Puddings via The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co. surplus nuts via KP Nuts & lots of surplus stock for cooking from our friends at Lidl GB RDC in Doncaster.

Great keynote speeches from Caroline Makinson Deputy Leader of Barnsley Council & informative presentations from Anne Asquith, Claire Miskell & Chris Crookes re Good Food Pantries, Fuel Pre-Payment Support Service, Welcoming Spaces & Household Support Grant + Community Shop ‘On the Go’!
 
Fab to support the fantastic best practice model Royston Friends Association ‘Royston Community Pantry’ via Food Aware CIC
 
Looking forward to collaborating in partnership with community partners to help deliver the 2030 Levelling Up Plan in Barnsley & Good Food Pantry roll-out.

Huge thanks to our friends at KP Nuts for another fantastic donation of surplus nuts to support our #SouthYorkshire community projects!
 
This has been most welcome by many community projects/families as the #CostOfLivingCrisis continues to affect so many vulnerable & deprived families.
 
KP Nuts have been been supporting us with surplus & donated snacks since 2009!

Bow Broom Wesleyan Reform Church

Huge thanks to Jean Waterfield and her team at Bow Broom Wesleyan Reform Church in Swinton for their excellent recent Harvest Festival donation to our community partners at Mexborough Foodbank of staple food + a £110 cash donation to help purchase further essential supplies.
 
This support is most appreciated and much needed as demand for food parcels continues across Mexborough, Denaby & Conisbrough during the Cost Of Living Crisis.

So proud of them helping to divert tonnes of edible food from potential waste & feeding thousands of people less fortunate each week + saving tonnes of CO2 from damaging the environment!
