Another extremely busy month for our team as we head towards the colder weather.
Please see below just a small selection of the projects we worked with during September.
Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd
Huge pleasure to support Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd with food supplies each week.
This is huge thanks to a VCFS Humanitarian Grant we received earlier this year by FA (in collaboration with Manna Community CIC Pioneer Social
Enterprise Ltd BME United Doncaster) to provide food each week to support ongoing needs across a number of Doncaster communities.
Also to the Well Doncaster & Public Health teams for ongoing support.
A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd
Here is our Volunteer Coordinator Clae Hodgson who kindly collected the donation and brought it to our warehouse.
A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is one of the largest and most forward-thinking family-owned businesses in the UK.
The company began life in 1917 as a counter-service grocery store and has grown from these humble beginnings into a company that now employs more than 7,000 people and has a turnover of more than £1 billion.

Huge thanks to New York Bakery Co. Bagels in Swinton for another fab donation of surplus bagels currently being redistributed to our #SouthYorkshire community projects!
A week before the best before date but perfectly edible for many days after! And also plenty of this will be frozen to prolong the life much further!
Big thanks to Debbie Frost & the team for ongoing support…very much appreciated.
FoodAWARE CIC Community Kitchen Rotherham
With the weather getting colder we served old and new faces that show there is a vital need for this service in the community.
Hot drinks were handed out alongside a choice of three different hot meals, many thanks to the volunteers for their hard work.

Busy sessions continue on Fridays with 23-28 food parcels out each week & all delivered by our fab volunteers in Mexborough, Conisbrough, Denaby & Swinton areas.
Mexborough Foodbank Manager delivered an emergency food parcel to a property in Conisbrough late Friday afternoon following a referral via St Leger Homes Doncaster due to an unfortunate incident + COVID self-isolation. Also, a box of ‘Toad in the Hole’ (via The Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company) plus two boxes of bagels (via New York Bakery Co. Bagels) was dropped off at our community partner Wrap Around Supporting People (following two food parcels earlier on Friday).
We are certainly seeing a spike in demand for food parcels, especially in Denaby & Conisbrough areas, so good job that Mex Foodbank covers all of these areas as the season change & we prepare for another very challenging winter.
A huge thanks to all of our supporters and to our fab volunteers who ‘make it happen’ each week!
