Mexborough Foodbank

Busy sessions continue as demand for our services is significantly increasing. Today is the hottest day on record but demand for food parcels continues to rise as the Cost of Living Crisis bites for so many.

99 food parcels delivered across Mexborough, Denaby & Conisbrough over the past three sessions (32 on 1st July, 32 on 8th & 35 on 15th July). A number provided via our collaborative project with Doncaster Citizen Advice Bureau in Mexborough.

We’ve seen an noticeable rise in food parcels provided in Denaby / Conisbrough areas recently.

Big thanks as always to the fab Doncaster Council Communities South Area Team who are absolute stars helping us to deliver a number of food parcels across the local area each week.

Please note that we DO NOT accept self-referrals and must have a referral from a local partner.

In order to receive a food parcel, we need a referral emailing to – info@foodawarecic.org.uk from your key worker or one of our community partners e.g. St Leger Homes, DMBC, Citizens Advice, Aspire, Credit Union etc.

If you don’t have a key worker then please contact Citizens Advice on 01709 572402 to make an appointment to assist current financial situation.

Agency referrals via – Doncaster Council St Leger Homes Doncaster Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough Wrap Around Supporting People Community First Credit Union Ltd Communities South Area Team Mexborough Family Hub Denaby & Conisbrough Family Hub Be Well Doncaster Doncaster Children’s Services Trust YWCA Green Gables etc.

Thanks as always to our community partners Mexborough Christian Community Church and all of our hard working volunteers – Mark, Chaz, Bev, Steve, Alan, Chris, Gail, Jean, Ian, Andy the Parademic etc. We could not provide this essential service without their tireless efforts.

Huge thanks to Kev Turner of High Melton for his ongoing donation of food supplies and recent £40 donation on 9th July.

Please continue to donate via our donation box at Lidl GB in Mexborough if you can. Thank you to everyone who has donated and continues to support our grassroots cause as the Cost of Living Crisis continues to bite for so many local families.

For larger donations please call 01709 717186 and we can arrange collection at a convenient time via our community partner Food Aware CIC
