MONTH IN REVIEW AUGUST 2024

Our team of volunteers continue to provide around 20-25 food parcels each week distributed across Mexborough, Denaby & Conisbrough as demand continues during #CostOfLivingCrisis.

 

Most of these were delivered by our volunteer drivers & a small number of collections each week.

 

We are currently closed until w/c 2nd Sep due to volunteer summer holidays.

 

Food parcels will still be provided if urgent/exceptional circumstances over the next couple of weeks via our community parters Communities South & Mexborough Family Hub

 

We do NOT accept self referrals. Food parcels are only provided in referral via community partners – Communities South Area Team, Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough St Leger Homes Doncaster Doncaster Council Wrap Around Supporting People Department for Work and Pensions – DWP Community First Credit Union Ltd YWCA Yorkshire Green Gables, Denaby & Conisbrough Family Hub Be Well Doncaster etc

 

Huge thanks to our limited team last couple of Fridays – Chaz for organising the parcels (along with Jean & Gail) & Matt & Alan, Graham & Ian for covering all of the deliveries. Also to Shelley, Steve & Bev our long-term volunteers via New Church

 

Thanks again to the fantastic Love Mexborough ‘Tennessee Takeover’ with three fab ladies – Emily, Evelyn & Helen who assisted our team making up food parcels each Friday for a few weeks in June/July.

 

Also to Livvi who did some Work Experience with us on Fri 19th July!

 

And thanks to all of our supporters for ongoing donations from local supermarkets, via Food Aware CIC, local residents & businesses.

Also huge thanks to Donna, Sam & Craig at MexCommunityHub for surpluses from the weekly TBBT session each week and to Chaz for collecting!

Elaine and her team do a superb job supporting their local community and we are proud to have supported them to help achieve this over the past few years.

We have been providing FREE surplus food supplies for a few weeks now and will continue to support the fab Sambo Randall & Craig Hill to help cook FREE nutritious meals for the local community each week.
