So yesterday afternoon, we had Team DiCampo in for cooking at Mexborough Community Hub and they did a great job – they cooked together, they were really involved and it was a pleasure to have them – they will be back next week!

It was our pleasure for Food Aware CIC to support the event.

The Bread and Butter Thing Launch

Hugely excited that our friends at The Bread & Butter Thing are launching a brand new Community Hub at Mexborough Community Hub tomorrow (Wed 16th Aug) at 1.30pm!
Fab training session last Wed and huge thanks to all of our new volunteers + the fab team at Newsome’s Funeral Directors who also assisted in making up the bags!
The team are all set for tomorrow and it looks we have a full session (80 customer x 3 bags)!
If you want to sign up for next week or future Wednesdays all you need to is –
Step 1 – Text 07860 063304 with your full name, postcode and the name of the hub you will be collecting from: MEXBOROUGH
Step 2 – select the size of order you want to receive: family – £8.50 (this is our top seller). We also offer individual £5 or large family £17. There is a vegetarian option available to.
Step 3 – We’ll send you a text every Monday to see if you want an order. Just reply “YES”by 10am the next day. We’ll deliver your order to the Mexborough hub on following Wednesday.

Huge thanks to Antonio & team at Lidl GB in Mexborough for donation of 100+ boxes of surplus eggs which have reached their ‘Display Until’ date….but perfectly good to eat for weeks after!
Our community partners at Mexborough Foodbank & many other community partners will be enjoying these next week!

Super Hero Day 2024

Our MD Sean Lord Gibbons & Mexborough Foodbank coordinator Charles Prouten had a fab day at ‘Super Hero Day’ yesterday with the fantastic Sentinel Squad UK as we gave out ‘free surplus pop and choc biscuits’ to all the children who attended!
